Welcome to my art website. I hope you will visit my Portfolio. I am a representational painter with a passion for the outdoors and the environment I grew up in – the Pacific Northwest. 

I love painting en plein air, as it gives me an opportunity to study and thoroughly enjoy my surroundings, to observe the lay of the land and nature. Mixing colors and matching them to the pannorama that constantly changes with the sun's light is always a fascinating challenge. When painting from my studio, I use my own photo references for inspiration. Peaceful hillsides, hand-worked gardens, places where people go to spend time and relax, and the paths that lead beyond are the things that inspire me to paint. My love of French Impressionism influences the way I approach painting with attention to light, shadow, and color. Always evolving as an artist, my observations of life and my environment are expressed in my work. I have recently started to explore a more abstract approach to painting the landscape using palette knives in place of brushes. This painting style has given me a new perspective that is changing the way I interpret what I see.  I hope you enjoy viewing my paintings as much as I enjoy the process of painting.
